Insert MMSI for FURUNO FM-2721 DSC

Steps to configure the MMSI No on a Furuno FM 2721 VHF DSC are the following:

1.Make a Short to the PINS 10 & 22 of the Remote connector (D25 Connector back side).
2.Power ON the VHF.
3.From menu go to:
Setup  System  Protection (write 632111)  OFF.
4.Write the MMSI No and press ENTER.
5.Press Cancel to return to main screen.
6.Shutdown the VHF.
7.Remove the short from Remote connector.
8.Power ON the VHF.

You write that I have to make a short to pin 10 and 22 of the connector. Do I have to connect the two to each other?
